Filing a Consumer Complaint against OYO

Planning for a trip beforehand is something a lot of travel mongers like to do. The majority of people like to book transportation and accommodation at least 2 months prior to my vacation. This digital age has enabled us to do so.

Unfortunately, it couldn’t make us bulletproof to the poor service provided by online booking sites. Besides being scammed, you can also encounter a deficiency of service on the part of hotel booking agencies. OYO is especially famous for all the wrong reasons.

Here goes the list of grievances customers have faced at OYO rooms

  • No refund after OYO room cancellation
  • Hotel denying check-ins
  • Poor hotel room condition
  • Charged for service under the all-inclusive package
  • Misbehavior by hotel staff

If you’ve faced any of the aforementioned deficiencies of service, then you should decide on your course of action next to file a complaint against OYO.

Course of action

  • Sending an email to OYO is an option for you. You can let them know of your grievance and compensation by contacting them via mail.
  • Calling the OYO customer care number is another way for you. You can lodge your complaint there as they value customer feedback.
  • Contacting the hotel directly could be the last step you can take to sort out your issue on your own. 

Your last resort

Many cases usually remain unresolved even after following the course of action. OYO either refuses to cooperate or they shut out your refund demand. In that case, you're required to file a consumer complaint against OYO in the Consumer Court.

But, filing a case in court is not an easy task as this requires a lot of detailed paperwork and follow-ups to draft the official complaint.

Hotel denying check in.. but on oyo app it shows i am checked in. But i can.t hotel staff 1st told me i have not any booking at there hotel. Then i told him to check in front of me. There was booking after that he said they can.t have empty room. i will get my refun. I leave that hotel and go to another one. After some time when i check oyo app it shows that i checked in to that hotel. And don.t have any refund in process..

Oyo staff Along with customers care people were not at all cooperative and understanding. Faced missbehaviour by oyo staff even the room quality was pathetic. On requesting cancellation and relocation to another place. None was provided. The customer service also didn't help and tried to dismiss our issues without solving them

Booked a hotel from OYO app but hotel denied check in as I complaint that I was promised AC in the room but service was not provided. After talking for almost two hours hotel said AC will work for only few hours..Then they again denied check in. I was shifted to another hotel they also denied check due to some dispute between hotel and OYO. No room provided since last 5 hrs. After more than 10-15 attempts I had to cancel the booking to get the refund amount. No solid reply from twitter regarding resolution. No reply from Ritesh Agarwal (oyo owner) Mentally harassed and I was thinking about suicide. Was thing about FIR but I had no time for all this shit. I had to leave lucknow the next day. The amount was only 350 but the problem is they promised me room and all the service but didn't provide me..I have all the call recordings available with me as a proof.

I was told I would receive my security deposit back after I check out, which I was misinformed by staff. I checked out on the 8th and still haven’t received anything. On the OYO app it states $50 security deposits. I was charged $75. This false advertisement and I was wrongfully informed by the staff as well.

I was about to stay on a hotel Capital O 28312 Hotel Shree Balaji Inn in Mahabaleshwar on 16th Oct for 1 day stay. But the hotel gave me the wrong address, So I tried to cancel the booking and stay on another hotel. I called to Oyo customer care for refund my money and cancel the booking but the hotel manager told them that I am already checked in, though they don't have my ID proov and address and I was not enter in the hotel. How they are telling lie to Oyo customer care? Even Oyo Customer care also not accepted our complaint and saying about check in issue.I am already in another hotel so how can I check in with their hotel.Please help me about it because they are abusing me and threating me. Hope for your good response. And do needful for my refund money.

I would like to make a complaint about the standard of the room that my partner stayed in whilst stay at your hotel. It was shocking. Damp was all up the walls. The shower was leaking to the point where he had to put his finger in the hole to take a shower. The bed sheets where wet because of the damp in the room. The door to the room took a good 5min to open with 2 people tugging on it, fire hazard and through out his stay was only given tea and coffee when I arrived to complain which then got him moved for his last night as there was a different women on the desk who knew how bad the room was and said it shouldn't be used as its not fit for purpose

Booking id LF5Z9920 , booking date was 10.07.2021 around 7.00 PM, hotel assistant called me and inform me that due to covid restrictions you cannot stay hence insisting me to cancel the booking, also he assured that booked amount will be refunded. Based on trust with him and OYO i cancelled then I travelled around 140 KM to my native. Few days back when I checked amount not yet refunded, please arrange the refund.

2 Days back I made a hotel booking and next day OYO calls me saying that due to some X reasons the hotel what was booked is unavailable and they shift to different hotel and request me to an additional payment of 140 apart from the early payment 949 made from me and now after occupying the hotel it's been told to me by the hotel that they only received 140 and rest it has to be paid from my end. When I call OYO team they now say that SPOT ON hotel is been blocked for me and I really didn't understand then why I have received Veda residency hotel details and why am I been asked to pay remaining 140? And now when I reach OYO team they been advised to make the payment. If I need to make the payment then why am I making booking from your end and why did you book 2 different rooms?

I did a booking in oyo townhouse few days ago Now the booking of my hotel is being changed to different hotel without my consent and i was informed by a sms and a system call. But moreover when i reached oyo support they told hotel persons deliberately cancel yr booking for price hike.I hardly got my contact to the hotel as they didn't picked up the call. And there i was told ki hotel is sold out so yr booking was shifted automatically...but the fact is booking is available on oyo app on the same dates but with greater prices....this is shameful by oyo ????

I had booked a room for UJJAIN- MP - CHECK-IN date 25-12-2020 & CHECK-OUT date 26-12-2020 at 11am through OYO representative over phone by paying 50% advance payment . Received booking confirmation and hotel details by SMS as well as OYO what's app. I was visiting to an unknown place with my family and a seven years old son. We had reached at HOTEL around 03:30 am on 26-12-2020 as we were needed room for 2 hours only because around 06:30 am we had booked a bus from UJJAIN TO INDORE. We have been denied to provide the room because no rooms were available ? It is most horrible experience for me in my life, after doing proper booking through OYO also advance payment @ 50% I could not get a room & my wife and a seven years son were wandering at 03:30 am for a hotel because of OYO negligence. My family had suffered all the day of 26-12-2021 because of OYO, our whole trip got spoiled.

On 28th August I booked a room in Oyo through call and I have also paid through gpay for the same. During booking the agent told me to carry only valid ID card for check-in but when I went to the hotel to check in the receptionists asked for RT PCR report for check in. After that again I called oyo and told my concern the agent told me to book in another hotel and to pay for it and I'll get my refund for my previous booking. He then booked in another hotel and I have also paid again for it.He said me that the 2nd hotel do not require RT PCR report to check in. I was assured to get refund immediately for my first booking. I went to the 2nd hotel. The 2nd hotel receptionists too asked RT PCR report to check in and said me that the collector has mandated it. I couldn't check in there too. From 28th July I was trying to contact them and get my money back. But they are avoiding again and again.

helo sir or madam my name is dalvir singh my oyo booking ID is E0MR5612 10 I booked oyo 3 rooms in mecklod ganj at 9pm when I booked hotel oyo app show me hotel is 0.6km from my location but then i make full payment it's show me hotel is 6km away from my location I immediately call the customer service and tell them I can't travel 6km in dangerous hill area with my family and children they told me you need to cancel old booking and need new book for nearly hotel I ask them for my money they tell you can call this number for refund +919313931393 and they cut call after that I call this number +919313931393 but I think its for just fun or makes fool for customers you can't talk anyone on this number because after 2nd option you will come back in main menu so I talk with your live agent and they told me we can't refund your money they aren't give me a genuine reason of not paying refund I don't know why I'm a middle class family person and this writing this massage from a friend I'm not know English because I'm tired please me for refund my money I can't contact with you again because not know English it's a humble request

I had made an online booking on 6th Feb 2021 through the helpline number of yours. We had made full advance payment to book the hotel room and amount too was deducted from my account. Although when we visited the hotel, receptionist informed us that there was No room available !!! Despite of showing the online booking we were not able to get the room which was highly disappointing and inconvenient. Further when we canceled the booking (due to unavailability of the room) we were informed that the amount will be refunded in 2 weeks. It's been almost a month and we haven't received the refund yet.
