Businesses involved in food-related activities can visit FSSAI to seek registration or license. FSSAI registration is a 14-digit number often attached to food products for human consumption.
According to the FSS Act of 2006, operating without a valid food license is a serious offence for FBOs. The FSSAI undertakes all of its operations in accordance with the Act and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
FSSAI license is important for agricultural products because the Food Safety and Standard Authority of India (FSSAI) regulates food quality and safety; all food-related businesses and industries must be FSSAI-registered.
You must obtain an FSSAI Registration or License if you operate a homemade food business in India. If you don't, you could also be banned from selling your products.
FSSAI stands for Food Safety & Standards Authority of India. Restaurants require an FSSAI License for Cloud Kitchens to verify that the food standards in their cloud kitchens match the Indian authority's criteria.
