The supreme court in a recent case on consumer complaints has taken measures to bring about a fair trial to the parties involved.  Consumer complaints have become a rising phenomenon with the quality of products getting worse day by day. People unhappy with the products can file consumer complaints or customer complaints.

What is the Consumer Protection Act?

Consumer Protection Act is a provision under the law that aims to solve Consumer Protection Complaints about issues related to products bought from the market. It helps protect the consumer from any harm that can be caused or is caused by products sold in the market. The Act helps bring accountability of the sellers of the products that have harmed or can harm the consumer.

The Act helps define the terms and conditions of the consumer complaint and the minute details that can be misinterpreted. It explains the concept of ‘Complainant’, Complaint, Consumer, Defect, Deficiency among many others. This helps understand the act better and take actions accordingly when faced with an issue.

What is the latest Ruling of Court?

The latest ruling of the court in the case of SGS India Ltd. Vs Dolphin International Ltd. at the supreme court has led to a clear understanding of the term. The ruling states that if a complaint is raised by an individual in regards to defective goods or services.

It is up to the ‘Complainant’ to show proof to get a ruling against the seller. It states that the opposite party cannot be held responsible for deficiency in service if the proof of the same can not be shown or provided to the court.

The Consumer Court can take decisions against Consumer Court Complaints that can ultimately help in improving services in the market. This will help increase the quality of services offered to the consumers.

How does the latest Ruling of Court help?

The latest ruling of the court dictates the necessary requirements for the filing of a consumer complaint against any company. The court ruling makes it mandatory for the compliant to show evidence for the complaint against the companies in faulty goods and services.

This makes the legal ground equal for the customer and the seller to fight legal cases against faulty goods and services. The ruling helps prevent the fraudulent case of people filing consumer complaints to extract money from the sellers. It helps provide transparency in the legal proceedings.

Conclusion

The Supreme Court is the premier law authority in the country. The ruling by the Supreme Court in regards to consumer complaints will bring transparency to the consumer complaint. It will help curb the increase in false complaints and also improve the services if the seller is found guilty.

It is a move that will be beneficial to both the customer and the seller as it will help provide evidence of faulty services thereby bringing in accountability for the faulty services.
