Food business operators like small to medium-sized manufacturing units, storage, transporters, retailers, marketers, distributors, etc., need to take FSSAI registration from the state government.

FSSAI registration for Food Businesses can be obtained through the FSSAI Food Licensing & Registration System. FSSAI License for Food business falls under two categories:

State License
Central License

FSSAI Food Business State License

Food Business Operators requires a License when the annual turnover of 12 lakh to 20 crores for a period of 1 to 5 years minimum and maximum respectively. Mostly small to mid-sized restaurants are eligible for FSSAI state licenses. This license is issued to the party of a particular state where the concerned party wishes to open a restaurant. The significant point that lies here is the party who wants to open a restaurant must be effective in a single state.

Documents Required for Obtaining State FSSAI License

The following documents must be submitted to the FSSAI for obtaining State FSSAI License:

Rental Agreement of Business Premises.
ID Proof of the Concerned Person (Aadhaar Card / Driving License / Passport / Voter ID)
If any Government Registration Certificates ( Company Incorporation Certificate / Firm Registration / Partnership Deed / Pan card / GST / Shop & Establishment / Trade License)
If the applicant is a private limited company or partnership firm then they should provide MOA & AOA or Partnership deed copy
For applying for State License any One of the following certificates is compulsory (Trade license, Shop & Establishment, Panchayath License, Corporation License, Municipality License)
Nature of Business.
Fssai declaration form
Manufacturing unit photos( if you are manufacturing/repacking)
Plant Layouts. (manufacturing/repacking unit)
Machinery details use for production in your company letterhead (Capacity & Horse Power details)
Product details on a company Letterhead.

Procedure for FSSAI Food Business State License

First, the food business operator has got to fill the appliance form B with the specified documents and costs.
A Unique Application Reference Number is going to be provided.
On the submission of an incomplete application, the method won’t be further moved. Hence, the specified additional information has got to be recorded.
If no such responses are provided, then the FBO may start the business after 60 days.
Therefore, a singular application ID is going to be provided.
Inspection of premises will happen after receiving the food business operator’s application
The authorities will issue an inspection report.
If no inspection takes place, then the FBO may start the business after 60 days.
While all the formalities are completed within 60 days of the amount, then the license is going to be granted.
If the inspection report isn't processed, then the FBO may start the business after 60 days.
It is to be noted that if an improvement notice or suspension notice or cancellation notice is provided, then a fresh application has got to be processed after 90 days.
